After you are signed in, search for Microsoft Remote Desktop. You will want to select the circular icon, as this is the most recent and up-to-date version of the software.

It will ask you for URL. Copy the link on the next line and paste it to the like like it is shown below:

After this, you will be prompted for your credentials.

UserNameyour full Knox email address.

You are now set! You should be able to see all of the applications available on Knox AnyWare.

If you are on a shared machine, you can log out of your session by selecting the trash icon in the application window next to the feed's title.

TIPS 

  • If you notice delays while using the application, Restore Down (i.e. do not maximize) the application window. 

  • Periodically save your work. 

    • Save early, save often!

  • When finished, please close all applications and then close the Microsoft Remote Desktop client

**After 2 hours of inactivity, you will be disconnected from the server. Any work not saved will be lost. Periodically save all work to the appropriate directory.

**Full screen may result in slow response times.


Saving Files Using KnoxAnyWare:

When you save a file you have the option to save to your Knox profile. Your Knox profile has 10 GB of space and is available on all Lab computers and through KnoxAnyWare. Your Knox profile is also backed up every night.

When you are ready to save your file using an application located on KnoxAnyWare you will see the following locations:

“This PC”

Documents: items stored here are on your network profile.

Desktop: items stored here are on your network profile.
