Note: Iphone process steps may be different from Android. This setup process essentially runs the setup process twice, this is completely normal and expected.
Have the end-user come down to the Helpdesk with the Google device and power adapter in hand.
Have the end-user download Unbox and connect your Google Home Device to a power source.
Download and install the Google Home app from the App store Store or Google Play .
Turn on the Help Desk PC hotspot.
Connect phone to the Hotspot.
Connect the Google device via the Google Home app.
Locate and note the MAC address using the Google Home app.
tap on your device icon
tap on the gear cog icon top right
scroll down to the bottom of that page.
Have the end-user register Store.
Once installed, open up the Google Home App and proceed with setting up your device.
When the setup gets to the screen where it asks you to connect to a WiFi, press the three dots in the top right corner and select “Show MAC Address“.
Register the device on this form: http://knoxaccess.knox.edu/registration/GameRegister.html
Wait 2 minutes then restart the device.
Have the end-user temporarily connect their Temporarily connect your smartphone to KnoxtronicsKnoxTronics.
Connect to the Google Home device by using the smartphone’s Google Home app.
Complete the setup of the device using the Google Home app. Note: Set it up with KnoxTronics
Follow the prompts on your Google Home app to complete the final setup.
Once the device setup is completed, reconnect the end-user’s your smartphone to Knox-Wireless.
