What is Gmail?

Gmail is an email client and service provided by Google. As of 1/21/13, Knox has switched over from the old Zimbra system and now uses Gmail as its main mail client.

How do I log in?

You can log in at my.knox.edu. Once you're logged in, there will be a link to your @knox.edu gmail account under the "Knox App" section.

If you are using a general account, or an account not directly associated with just one person (such as helpdesker@knox.edu), you will need to log in by going to www.google.com/a/knox.edu

How do I use Labels?

You can use labels in place of folders and they work largely the same way except that you can mark one email with multiple labels and labeled messages are still considered to be in your inbox, but since they are labeled, they will not appear unless you choose to look at that labeled mail specifically by choosing it from the left hand pane (where you might usually find folders).

How can I view my ENTIRE inbox?

In the left hand panel, look for and click the "All Mail" option.

How do I view email like I used to? (How do I turn off Conversation View?)

To turn off Conversation View, look for the toggle under the general tab of the Settings panel.

How do I compose emails in a full screen and not the little chat bubble?

Open a up new email and look for the little drop-down arrow in the bottom right corner of the box that appear. Within this menu choose Switch back to Old Compose.
