 VPN and Remote Desktop (Windows)
 
Prepare your Office PC:
 
You need to make sure your computer allows these connections. Right click on "Computer" and go to Properties. Click on Advanced System Settings.
Note the computer name (you don't need the .knox.edu) on the Computer Name tab. You will use this to connect to. Click on the Remote tab. Make sure the "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop" and click Apply and/or OK. Restart your computer if you had to change this setting. 
 
Make sure your computer is left on. You can log out or lock it.
 
Using KnoxAnyWare to access your office computer from *any device (faculty/staff only) while on or off campus. 
Follow the instructions on the link above to set  up KnoxAnyWare. One of the applications you will find is Remote Desktop.
Launch Remote Desktop, when prompted for computer you want to connect to, type in your computer name. You will then be prompted for your Knox username and password. If the Knox domain is not listed you will need to use knox\username.

 logged in you will see the screen below. The options will vary depending on the group (faculty, staff, or student) you are a member of.

Home and Browse Network
You will be provided with servers that you have access to including "Departments", "Euclid", "Faculty/Staff/Student Home Accounts", and the Registrar Web Site. Click the link to the destination you want to browse, then click through the hierarchy to the file you want to access. If the link to the destination is not present, there are further instructions on the VPN screen. You may then copy files from/to your home computer to the directory you selected (with appropriate permissions). From the "Browse Network" link you may also "Browse all Networks" as you would on campus.

Any Connect 
You will find a download button to install "Any Connect". Once "Any Connect" is installed you will find it in your program list on Windows and in Applications on Mac.  Once the app is installed you can launch it, you will be prompted to log in and once connected your computer will have access to resources inside the Knox Firewall as if you are on campus.

Terminal Servers 
This allows you to establish a Remote Desktop connection to a computer/server on the Knox Network . Your office computer will need to be configured to allow remote connections, and be left powered on. If you currently connect to your office computer using remote desktop from home you will now be able to use this link. Terminal Servers currently works to connect from your off-campus PC or Mac to a Windows PC on campus.
