USB Slideshow on TV

The USB sticks must be formatted to FAT32 to work on the Vizio TV’s.

Creating images for these TV’s

Resolution:

  • Images must be 1920 x 1080 resolution.

    • Anything close might work fine. Example: 1918 x 1072

    • Anything too far off will have black bars on the sides of the images. Example: 1520 x 1080

Image Rotation:

  • Images for horizontal TV’s must be horizontal.

    • The picture should appear normally.

  • Images for vertical TV’s must be saved sideways, but the same resolution.

    • The picture should appear sideways on the computer screen to appear vertically on the TV.

      • To view this on your computer correctly, you would physically tilt your head 90 degrees to the left.

Starting the Slideshow

  1. Pull the TV off of the wall by gripping the TV and not just the picture frame.

  2. Turn the TV slightly sideways, so that you can see the USB port.

  3. Plug in the USB.

  4. The TV will automatically recognize the USB.

  5. You will then see the slideshow menu.

    1. Go to settings.

      1. Shuffle should be turned ON.

      2. Duration should be between 20-25 seconds.

      3. Transition should be set to DISSOLVE.

    2. Hit START SLIDESHOW.

  6. Push the TV back into the wall.

65” Digital Signage TV

  • Inputs available:

    • Chromecast

      • Switch inputs to Vizio Home and follow Chromecast instructions

    • Airplay

      • Switch inputs to Airplay and follow Airplay instructions

    • Digital signage

      • Switch inputs to HDMI 1

        • This is not to be unplugged for any reason unless done by the ITS staff.

Wireless Connections for all TV’s (except top left)

  • Most of the TV’s come with Airplay and Chromecast. To utilize Airplay and Chromecast, the TV must be connected to KnoxTronics.

    • Use the remote to press the settings button.

    • Navigate down to “Network” and choose Knoxtronics.

      • Enter the password: AsDfGW2481632

  • The TV’s come with Airplay and Chromecast.

    • If you are using a Mac, use Airplay.

    • If you are using a Windows PC, use Chromecast.

  • To utilize the wireless connections, your laptop must be connected to KnoxTronics.

    • Go to your WIFI settings and choose KnoxTronics.

      • Enter the password: AsDfGW2481632

Airplay

  1. Use the remote to change the input to Airplay.

    1. The input button is on the top left corner of the remote.

  1. You will now see the Airplay screen on the TV.

  1. To utilize the wireless connections, you must be connected to KnoxTronics on your laptop.

    1. Go to your WIFI settings and choose KnoxTronics.

      1. Enter the password: AsDfGW2481632

  2. In the upper right corner of your Mac, click this button.

  1. Choose screen mirroring from this menu.

  1. If the TV is turned on and the Input is on Airplay, you will see the tv name appear.

  1. Once you have selected which TV screen you want to cast to, look at the TV screen for the four-digit code.

    1. The TV will display the name of your computer as a confirmation.

  1. Enter the four-digit code on your computer.

  1. Once you enter the four-digit code, your computer will automatically cast to the TV.

Airplay to Multiple Displays

Mac users can Airplay to two TV’s at the same time by repeating the Airplay process above and selecting a second available display.

Chromecast

  1. Use the remote to change the input to Vizio Home.

  1. You will land on the Vizio Home screen.

  1. To utilize the wireless connections, you must be connected to KnoxTronics on your laptop.

    1. Go to your WIFI settings and choose KnoxTronics.

      1. Enter the password: AsDfGW2481632

  2. On your Windows PC, click the three dots to get to the Google Chrome settings.

  1. In the casting menu if all the TV’s on the Portrait wall are turned on and connected to Knoxtronics, you will see them here.

  1. When you first start casting, you are only casting your tab. Your screen will have a black line at the top and the bottom. To remove this you must cast your entire screen.

  1. Open the casting menu again and navigate to the sources at the bottom. Choose cast screen.

  1. You will now be casting your full screen and any windows you want to.

ChromeCast to Multiple Displays

To Chromecast your laptop to multiple displays, simply repeat the process of opening the cast menu and selecting different available TV’s.

  • Windows can cast to all of the displays at once.

  • Macs can only cast to two displays at once.
