Connect Chromebook to Knox-Wireless
SSID: Knox-Wireless
EAP Method: PEAP
EAP Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
Server CA Certificate: Do Not Check
Subject Match: Leave blank
Domain suffix Match: Leave blank
User name: the user's Knox username (without @knox.edu)
Password: the user's Knox email password
Anonymous Identity: Leave blank
You may opt to save the username and password.
Click Connect.
Device Registration:
If you have registered your Chromebook before, continue to step 13.
The Knox College Device Registration page will appear if you have not registered the Chromebook with your username prior to this.
Come back to this page when you finish registering your device.
Follow the steps at this link to register your Chromebook: Register my device
Note: All users must register their device.
Choose how you would like to add this Chromebook, select “For Personal Use”. (Do not select “a child” or “For work”.)
Click Next.
You will be asked to sync the Chromebook with your Google account. We recommend to sync it with your knox.edu account.
You can choose to:
“Enter your Google Account and Password”
Continue to Step 16.
“Automatically get account from Android Phone”
Click Next.
Scan the QR code with your smartphone.
Your phone’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi need to be turned on for this to work.
Follow the instructions on your phone.
Android Quick setup will complete on your phone. Click Done on your phone.
On the Chromebook click Next.
Terms and Agreements will appear.
Click Accept and Continue.
Chromebook will prompt you to Sync your Google account.
Click Accept and Continue.
Chromebook will prompt you to set a password for only the Chromebook to make it easier to sign into.
Password must be 8 characters at minimum.
Once you set the password, click Next.
Chromebook will prompt you to select a PIN.
Pin numbers must be 6 characters.
Chromebook will prompt you to stay connected with your phone.
Chromebook will prompt you to set up more features.
Click Get Started.
Click Next.
Microsoft will then request your email address with @knox.edu
Click Next.
Microsoft with request the password to your knox.edu account.
Click Sign In.
You will be prompted to Approve the Sign In Request by completing your 2-factor authentication method.
Check your device that receives the 2-factor authentication notification and complete the authenticator.
The Chromebook will now load your profile.
Review Terms and Conditions if prompted and click “Accept & Continue”.
The Chromebook will load the desktop.
