Familiarize yourself with the equipment in the room
Power Supply
Leave it turned on.
The light (outlined in red) indicates the presence of power.
Main PC
When the PC is on, the light illuminates WHITE, as shown above.
If you find the PC turned off, press the power button once.
The power button is on the back right hand side if you are reaching from the front, as shown below.
Do not shut down the main PC.
Video Switcher
The video switcher helps select between multiple incoming video sources.
For projection make sure the power is turned on for the switcher. The green switch located on the left should have the “I” pressed in for it to be turned on. If the “O” is pressed in, the video switcher is turned off.
Identify the correct input number for your device connection and select it by pressing the appropriate button.
The active selection is backlit with a red light.
Make the correct selection:
#1 - DVD/VHS
#2 - Not in use
#3 - Not in use
#4 - Not in use
#5 - Not in use
#6 - Guest VGA
#7 - Main PC
#8 - Document Camera
Room Audio
Note: Make all audio adjustments on the main PC first.
Each Mac has different icons to find volume button. Here is an example.
Click on the icon (outlined in red)
Drag the slider on the bar left to turn down and right to turn up the volume (outlined in green).
The computer volume is muted if you see the speaker icon with an cross on it (outlined in red).
To unmute the computer, click the speaker icon.
Use the TV remote to turn the volume up or down as needed.
Amplifier
All volume changes should be made on the “Master” volume control knob shown above.
Power switch: This switch can power on or power off the amplifier. The amplifier is necessary to power the speakers. If the amplifier is turned off, you will have no audio to the room speakers, which in this room, are hanging from the ceiling.
Green circle: Indicates that the amplifier has power when the light is illuminated green.
Note: The knobs highlight in red on the right side of the amplifier are to be set directly in the middle, pointing straight up. If you set them to the far right, you will distort the audio. If you set them to the left, you will have no audio.
Inputs
Channel 1 & Channel 2 control the stereo audio of the room
Audio box
Front panel
Both channels of the AudioBox have Mic/Instrument combo jacks (highlighted in red). These jacks accepts either a ¼-inch phone plug or an XLR plug.
The knobs (highlighted in gold) controls the gain of the instruments that are plugged into channel 1 and channel 2.
The main knob (highlighted in violet) controls the volume for the main outputs on the back of the AudioBox
Rear Panel
The ¼-inch headphone Jack (highlighted in violet) is used to connect headphones to the AudioBox.
The region (highlighted in red) are the main outputs for the AudioBox. The output level of the Main Outs is controlled by the Main volume knob on the front of the unit.
MIDI inputs and outputs (highlighted in yellow) allow connection to, and communication with, MIDI devices.
The USB Port (highlighted in green) is where you connect the USB cable from the AudioBox to the computer. The AudioBox is powered via this connection and does not require an external power supply.
DVD / VHS player
Press the power button (highlighted in red) to turn on the Sony DVD/VHS player.
Be sure the switch (highlighted in gold) is set to DVD/Video (to the right).
Press the eject button (highlighted in green).
Insert DVD/VHS and hit play.
Document Camera
Projector
Point the remote at the front of the projector.
Turning on the projector: Press “On” once (outlined in red).
Turning off the projector: Press “Off” twice (outlined in green).
Projector Screen
The projector screen is manual and there is a string at the bottom center.
To raise the screen, pull the screen by the string out away from the chalkboard a couple of feet, pull down, and release, allowing the screen to retract.
To lower the screen, pull down on the string and let go near the chalkboard shelf for full extension.
