Home and Browse Network
You will be provided with servers that you have access to including "Departments", "Euclid", "Faculty/Staff/Student Home Accounts", and the Registrar Web Site. Click the link to the destination you want to browse, then click through the hierarchy to the file you want to access. If the link to the destination is not present, there are further instructions on the VPN screen. You may then copy files from/to your home computer to the directory you selected (with appropriate permissions). From the "Browse Network" link you may also "Browse all Networks" as you would on campus.
Any Connect
You will find a download button to install "Any Connect". Once "Any Connect" is installed you will find it in your program list on Windows and in Applications on Mac. Once the app is installed you can launch it, you will be prompted to log in and once connected your computer will have access to resources inside the Knox Firewall as if you are on campus.
Terminal Servers
This allows you to establish a Remote Desktop connection to a computer/server on the Knox Network . Your office computer will need to be configured to allow remote connections, and be left powered on. If you currently connect to your office computer using remote desktop from home you will now be able to use this link. Terminal Servers currently works to connect from your off-campus PC or Mac to a Windows PC on campus.

Installing the FortiClient VPN on your computer and configuring the application
First, open a web browser, type https://fortysix.knox.edu:8443 into the address bar.

Once the FortiClient portal webpage opens, instead of entering a username or password here, click on the Single Sign-On button.

You will now be promoted to log in with your Knox username (full Knox email address) and password.
After logging in, you will now be at the VPN Portal page. Click on Download the FortiClient for your operating system of the computer you are using. Open the installer once it is finished downloading.

Once the FortiClient is finished installing:
For Windows PCs you will see a shortcut show up on your desktop. Double click the icon to open FortiClient.
For Macs, you will see a FortiClient icon in the top menu bar. Click on the icon and choose Open FortiClient Console.
In the FortiClient VPN window that appears, click Configure VPN.

Configure VPN using the settings shown in the image below:
For VPN, click on the SSL-VPN tab
For Connection Name, enter Knox College VPN
For Remote Gateway, enter fortysix.knox.edu
Check Customize port and enter 8443
Check Enable Single Sign On (SSO) for VPN Tunnel
Leave all other settings in this window as default and Click Save

After saving, click the SAML login button (labeled Connect on some versions of FortiClient).

You will be prompted to enter your Knox username (full email address and password).
Once you successfully log in, the FortiClient window will show the VPN is successfully connected and will show timer of how long your VPN has been active.
