About
At time writing, JAVA versions higher than 8u131 will fail to launch the Java Applet. End uses must remove later versions and must install version 8u131.
Installation Process
Remove presently installed versions of Java
Windows 7
- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- In the upper right hand corner of the screen click on on "View By"
- Set View by to Small Icons
- Click on Programs and Features
- Click on a JAVA entry.
- At the top of the list, click on "Uninstall".
- Follow any on screen prompts to complete the removal.
- Repeat for any remaining JAVA items.
Windows 10
- Right click on the Windows button in the lower left hand corner.
- Click Control Panel
- In the upper right hand corner of the screen click on on "View By".
- Set View by to Small Icons
- Click on Programs and Features
- Click on a JAVA entry.
- At the top of the list, click on "Uninstall".
- Follow any on screen prompts to complete the removal.
- Repeat for any remaining JAVA items.
Install Version 8u31
- Open File Explorer
- Double click on the Apps (N): drive
or 
- Double click on the JAVA_Installer folder to open it.
- Drag and Drop file to your Windows desktop.
- Close File Explorer
- Go to your Windows desktop
- Double click on JAVA Installer to start the installation.
- Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the installation.
