Taylor Lounge is equipped with two wireless microphones, a DVD player, and wall ports for guest connections. Follow the links below to find required instructions.

Room Layout and Lighting Controls

  • Controls lights in areas that are not the elevated stage.

  • These are located next to the door all the way in the back of the room in Figure 1 above or from where the picture was taken from in Figure 2.

The AV Cabinet

  • Power Bar

  • Microphone Receivers

  • Video Switcher (to change projection inputs)

  • Audio Amplifier

  • Drawer with remotes and necessary cables

  • DVD player

  • Projector remote

  • HDMI Cable

  • VGA Cable

Power Supply

To use any equipment in the space, the Power bar must be turned on.

  • On is indicated by the red light illuminated on the power button.

  • If you find it turned off, turn on the power bar by flipping the switch up.

Wireless Microphone Receivers

Add instruction on how to turn on receiver. Explain not to mess with receiver settings, only power.

Wireless Microphones

  • Turn on: Press the red power button at the bottom of the microphone and the LED screen will turn on.

  • Turn off: Hold red power button until the LED screen goes blank.

  • Volume: Change the volume level of a microphone through the Amplifier located in the AV Cabinet.

Amplifier

Use the amplifier to control the volume of inputs in the space.

  • If audio is required, make sure the amplifier is turned on, indicated by a blue light above the power button.

  • If the amplifier is turned off, push the power button to turn it on.

  • The knobs highlighted in green are the master volumes.

From left to right:

  • Input Knob #1: Wireless Mic 1

  • Input Knob #2: Wireless Mic 2

  • Input Knob #3: Wallplate XLR

  • Input Knob #4: Wallplate PC

  • Input Knob #5: DVD Audio

Video Switcher

  • The video switcher helps select between multiple incoming video sources.

  • In order to project your connected device, turn on the video switcher. The green switch located on the left should have the “I” pressed in for it to be turned on. If the “O” is pressed in, the video switcher is turned off.

  • Identify the correct input number for your device connection and select it.

Wall plate Connections

  • The wall plate for video and audio inputs is on the right corner of the stage.

  • Necessary cables to connect a device can be found in the AV Cabinet Drawer. (Note: If someone took it or left it plugged into the ports, it won’t be in the drawer.)

  • HDMI input is #6 on the switcher. This connection will send video and audio.

  • VGA input is #7 on the switcher. VGA only transmits video. (Note: You will also need the 3.5mm audio cable connected to your device in order to project with sound.)

Note: Refer to the switcher guide above to make the Active selection for the correct connection.

DVD Player

  • Turn on/off by pressing the power button on the DVD remote.

  • Choose input #8 on the switcher to project.

  • Continue using the DVD player as usual.

Note: Turn the projector off before turning off the DVD player. The projector will display a black screen if you turn off the DVD player first, making it easier to forget to turn off the projector.

Using the Projector

  • Turn on: Press the power button on the remote once. Wait for the projection to load. This step may take a minute.

  • Make sure the correct input has been chosen on the video switcher in the cabinet.

  • Connect the appropriate cable to the device via the wall plate on the right corner of the stage.

  • Turn off: Press the power button, watch for the text that will show up in the projection. Press the power button again to fully turn it off.

  • Disconnect your device.

  • Return the cables and projector remote to the AV Cabinet drawer.

Projector Screen

Find the projector screen control switch on the right side of the stage as highlighted on the picture.

  • Lower the screen by holding the switch down until the screen is at the correct height.

  • Raise the screen by holding the switch up until the screen has been pulled up completely.
