Familiarize yourself with the equipment in the room

AV Cabinet

Power Supply

The presence of power is indicated by the light outlined in green.

The power switch is outlined in red.

Do not turn off.

Main PC

When the PC is on, the light illuminates WHITE, if you find the PC turned off, press the power button once. 

Jiggle the mouse or press the keyboard to wake the computer.

Sign in to the computer with your username and password.

Do not shut down the main PC.

When finished, log off of the main PC.

Troubleshooting the computer

If you think the PC is unresponsive, press and hold the power button for a few seconds to force a shut down, wait a few seconds, and then press the power button once to turn it on.

Video Switcher

The video switcher helps select between multiple incoming video sources.

  • For projection make sure the power is turned on for the switcher. The green switch located on the left should have the “I” pressed in for it to be turned on. If the “O” is pressed in, the video switcher is turned off.

  • Identify the correct input number for your device connection and select it by pressing the appropriate button.

  • The active selection is backlit with a red light.

Make the correct selection:

#1 - DVD/VHS

#2 - Not in use

#3 - Not in use

#4 - Not in use

#5 - Main PC

#6 - Guest VGA

#7 - Document Camera

#8 - Guest HDMI

Room Audio

Note: Make all audio adjustments on the main PC first.

  • Click the speaker icon (outlined in red).

  • Drag the slider on the bar left to turn down and right to turn up the volume (outlined in green).

  • The computer volume is muted if you see the speaker icon with an “x” next to it (outlined in red/green).

    • To unmute the computer, click the speaker icon with the “x” that is outlined in green.

Stereo Mixer

The light outlined in white indicates the presence of power.

Press the button outlined in gold to mute an individual channel.

The knob outlined in red controls the stereo output.

The knob outlined in green controls the mono output.

The lights outlined in purple show the audio level coming into the Ashley LX-308B Stereo Mixer.

Input 1: DVD/VHS Player

Input 2: Denon CD player

Input 3: Denon Bluetooth player (DN-300BR)

Input 4: Not in use (leave off)

Input 5: Main PC

Input 6: Guest Audio (3.5mm cable)

Input 7: Not in use (leave off)

Input 8: Not in use (leave off)

Troubleshooting Audio

  1. On the device, is the volume turned up?

  1. On the device, is the volume muted?

  1. Is the input on the Ashly LX-308B Stereo Mixer muted? (outlined in gold)

  1. Do you have levels coming through the Ashly LX-308B Stereo Mixer? (outlined in purple)

  1. Is the volume Level turned up for either the stereo, or mono output on the Ashly LX-308B Stereo Mixer?

a. Is the Pan set to the middle so it projects audio from both speakers? (outlined in green below)

  1. Is the volume Level turned up on the correct input? (outlined in red below)

    1. Described in image below. (outlined in gold)

  2. Is the Pan set to the middle so it projects audio from both speakers? (outlined in green below)

    1. Described in image below. (outlined in gold)

Amplifier

Note: Changes to audio levels should be made on the device being used or the Ashly LX-308B Stereo Mixer.

DVD/VHS

Press the power button (highlighted in red) to turn on the Samsung DVD/VHS player.

Be sure the switch (highlighted in gold) is set to DVD/Video (to the right).

Press the eject button (highlighted in green).

Insert DVD/VHS and hit play.

Bluetooth Receiver

  • Before proceeding to next steps, make sure that the Denon Bluetooth receiver is turned on.

    • The light above the power switch (outlined in red) indicates power.

To pair:

  • Briefly press DN-300BR’s Pair button (outlined in gold). The Status Light will start flashing quickly.

  • On your Bluetooth device, enter its Bluetooth settings menu, and select DN-300BR. When DN300BR successfully pairs to a Bluetooth device, the Status Light will stop flashing and remain lit.

Note: Some older Bluetooth devices may require you to enter a PIN. If this is the case, enter 0000 as the PIN.

  • If no device pairs within 60 seconds, DN-300BR will exit pairing mode and the Status Light will flash slowly. To re-enter pairing mode, briefly press DN-300BR's Pair button.

To unpair:

  • Enter your Bluetooth device’s Bluetooth settings menu, and disconnect from DN-300BR.

  • Press and hold DN-300BR’s Pair button for 3 seconds, and then release it. DN-300BR will unpair from your Bluetooth device, remove it from the memory of the Bluetooth module, and be available to pair to another device.

Bluetooth Volume

  1. Set the volume on your device.

  2. Raise/lower the volume using the knob (highlighted in green).

Document Camera

 

 

 

Projector

  • To turn on the projector, press the power button (outlined in red) once while pointing the remote at the front of the projector.

  • To turn off the projector, press the power button twice.

Projector Screen

The projector screen is manual and there is a string at the bottom center.

To raise the screen, pull the screen by the string out away from the chalkboard a couple of feet, pull down, and release, allowing the screen to retract.

To lower the screen, pull down on the string and let go near the chalkboard shelf for full extension.
