Knox Guest Access Wireless and Registration
The Knox College Guest Access wireless network is designed to provide basic capability. Web browsing and access to most email systems is availableto allow guests to connect to the network with limited capabilities. On this network you can browse the web, play videos on YouTube, and present slides. This network is not designed to support streaming media, gaming, or presentationsapplications or gaming. Guests are also removed from this network after seven days from the day they are registered. Go to the Home Screen on your device.
Open Settings
Open Network or Wi-Fi Settings
Select Knox Guest Access and connect.
All mobile devices (including laptops) should disable “Random MAC address” or “Private Wi-Fi address”. Refer to this link for directions: Mobile Device Issue - MAC address Network issue on Knox Networks
Tap Connect. You will be connected without internet.
Go to a web browser of your choice (Google Chrome, Safari, etc.)
If not automatically prompted, go to knoxaccess.knox.edu
This will bring up the Network Access page.
Click on the “Plus Symbol” next to “Self Registered Guests” in the middle of the page.
This will bring up the “Guest Self Registration” page.
Enter your Email.
You
have to use a valid email address to receive your password via email.Enter your First Name.
Enter your Last Name.
Enter a Reason for why you are using the Guest Wi-Fi.
This does not need to be detailed. Enter a brief description of why you are using the Guest Wi-Fi.
Click Request Guest Access.
A new page will appear with the email you entered and a newly created password.
You will be emailed the name you entered, your email address for the Knox Guest Access network, and the length of time you have left to use the network. You will receive a second email with your password for the Knox Guest Access network.
To log into the guest network again, you will need the username and password.
Check the box that you agree to the terms set forth in the acceptable use policy.
Click Login.
After clicking login, you will see a page that says Success. Please wait until the timer is finished.
When the timer finishes, you will see a message at the top of your screen that says “Your network connection has been reconfigured. Please close and reopen your browser.”
Close and reopen your browser.
You will then have 7 days before needing to repeat these steps to be registered on the Knox Guest Access network.
