Shamelessly copied from:  University of Toronto

Option 1:  Typical Deauthoriation Process

Used in most cases.  If this process fails, see the next section for another Option

  1. Open up ArcGIS Administrator (located in the ArcGIS program group in your Start Menu).
  2. In the left-hand pane, click the Support Operations folder, and the Deauthorize button.

Screenshot of ArcGIS Administrator highlighting button to begin deauthorization process.

  3. Check the box next to the installed items that you wish to deauthorize and click Next. The wizard will guide you through the deauthorization process automatically. If you encounter difficulty, please the Help Desk at 7700.

Option 2: "Off-line" Deauthorization Process

Used when getting a "Recieving Deuathorization Failed" message when using Option 1.

  1. Open up ArcGIS Administrator > click on Support Operations on the left side > click on Deauthorize

  2. Choose I have installed my software and need to authorize it > click on Next

  3. Select the features that we want to deauthorize > click on Next

  4. Click on Save > save the deauthorize.txt on Desktop > click Finish

  5. Upload the deauthorize.txt on my.esri.com by clicking on My Organizations > Licensing > Additional Licensing Forms > Secure Site Operations

  6. Once you receive the response file from ESRI, double click the file on the machine that you wish to authorize the licenses > click Finish

  7. Open up ArcGIS Administrator to make sure that the licenses have been removed.
