Familiarize yourself with the AV Equipment

AV Cabinet

Power Supply

The red light (outlined below) indicates that the power supply is turned on.

Main PC

When the PC is on, the light illuminates WHITE, if you find the PC turned off, press the power button once. 

Jiggle the mouse or press the keyboard to wake the computer.

Sign in to the computer with your username and password.

Do not shut down the main PC.

When finished, log off of the main PC.

Troubleshooting the computer

If you think the PC is unresponsive, press and hold the power button for a few seconds to force a shut down, wait a few seconds, and then press the power button once to turn it on.

Video Switcher

The video switcher helps select between multiple incoming video sources.

  • Identify the correct input number for your device connection and select it by pressing the appropriate button

  • The active selection is backlit with a red light

#1 - Main PC

#2 - DVD player

#3 - Not in use

#4 - Guest HDMI

#5 - Document Camera

#6 - Guest VGA

#7 - VHS/DVD player

#8 - Not in use

Room Audio

Note: Make all audio adjustments on the main PC first.

  • Click the speaker icon (outlined in red).

  • Drag the slider on the bar left to turn down and right to turn up the volume (outlined in green).

  • The computer volume is muted if you see the speaker icon with an “x” next to it (outlined in red/green).

    • To unmute the computer, click the speaker icon with the “x” that is outlined in green.

Amplifier

Red highlighted button: This button can power on or power off the amplifier. Turn it on for any audio needs.

Green highlighted button: It is the master volume knob and can control all audio output from all sources.

Bass Knob: Leave in middle.

Treble Knob: Leave in middle.

Module Knob: Leave in middle.

Input Knobs: Only turn on the one that is necessary.

Input 1: Not in use (leave off)

Input 2: Not in use (leave off)

Input 3: Not in use (leave off)

Input 4: Not in use (leave off)

Input 5: Not in use (leave off)

Input 6: Not in use (leave off)

Input 7: Main PC

Input 8: Not in use (leave off)

DVD / VHS

  1. Press the power button (highlighted in red) to turn on the DVD/VHS player.

  2. Be sure the switch (highlighted in gold) is set to either DVD or VHS.

    1. For VHS:

      1. Press the eject button (highlighted in green) on DVD/VHS player.

      2. Hit play button (highlighted in violet) on DVD/VHS player.

    2. For DVD:

      1. Press open/close button (highlighted in blue) on DVD/VHS player.

      2. Hit play button (highlighted in pink) on DVD/VHS player.

Multi-Region DVD player

  1. Press the power button (highlighted in red).

  2. Press the open tray button (highlighted in green).

  3. Insert DVD in the tray.

  4. Press the play/pause button (highlighted in gold) to play.

Document Camera

Projector

  • To turn on the projector, press the power button (outlined in red) once while pointing the remote at the front of the projector.

  • To turn off the projector, press the power button twice.

Projector Screen

The projector screen is manual and there is a string at the bottom center.

To raise the screen, pull the screen by the string out away from the chalkboard a couple of feet, pull down, and release, allowing the screen to retract.

To lower the screen, pull down on the string and let go near the chalkboard for full extension.
