  5. Enter the code and click verify.

  6. Congratulations, you are now ready to start using the transfer portal.

Using Transfer.Knox.edu

The portal can be found at https://transfer.knox.edu.

  1. Login using your Knox College email address and password.

  2. This is a secure site, and you will be prompted to configure multifactor authentication using an authenticator app on your phone. More detailed instructions are attached to this message.

  3. Once in, the tool works very similar to any email system. With a few exceptions such as:

    1. Only the recipients of the message are allowed to download the files by default.

    2. Files attached have 30 days to live on the server before they are automatically deleted.

    3. You can transfer very large files as well. (Large files can take extreme amounts of time to both upload and download.)

Receive Files from External Parties

  1. Your initial login sets up your account and your File-Drop location.

    1. The file drop will not work unless you have logged into the Secure File Transfer Portal prior.

  2. Your File-Drop URL uses your Knox email address. For example: https://transfer.knox.edu/filedrop/your_email_address

  3. From within, it’s just regular webmail, with up to 1GB of files that can be transferred per message.

  4. Once completed, an email notification will appear in your Knox account.

  5. To access the shared files, log in to the Secure File Transfer Portal and go to your inbox:

  6. The file(s) will now be available for download:
