Post Lobby

Using the Projector and Room Speakers

1. Set laptop on microwave.

Open

2. Plug laptop into power.

   1. Ensure power strip is turned on.

Open

3. Plug 3.5mm Aux Cable with green connector on it into laptop.

   1. This uses the big white room speakers, not the projector speaker.

4. Plug the HDMI cable into the laptop.

5. Test audio to the big white speakers by playing a video that has audio.

   1. Not working?

      1. Power strip on?

      2. Amplifier power cable plugged into power strip? (labeled “AMP”)

      3. Audio output on the laptop should be set to “headphones”, not Epson.

      4. Volume muted?

         1. YouTube could be muted.

         2. Computer could be muted.

   2. Not loud enough? Turn up the volume on your device.

      1. YouTube volume

      2. Computer volume

6. Turn on projector.

   1. Do not turn on the projector volume unless the device you are using does not have a 3.5mm aux port.

7. Lower projector screen.

8. Turn on the projector using the remote.

   1. Remote is kept at ITS for AV Employee Use Only. To utilize the remote, submit a support request by emailing helpdesk@knox.edu

9. Audio output on the laptop should be set to “headphones”, not Epson.

10. Projection and audio should now work.

11. If the volume needs to be louder, open the lockbox and turn the “level” knob. 

    1. The lockbox key is kept at ITS for AV Employee Use Only. To get access, submit a support request by emailing helpdesk@knox.edu

12. Adjust bass and treble as needed.

13. Close and lock lockbox.

Teardown

1. Unplug HDMI and 3.5mm cables. Place them next to the microwave.

2. Turn off the projector.

3. Put the projector screen back if used.

4. Return equipment borrowed from AV to SMC E005.
