Updating Apple Keychain Post Password Change

When Mac Users change their domain password, they must update their keychain file to remove any saved old domain passwords.  Failure to do so may result in being locked out of your account.

Updating the Keychain - Removing Old Password Entries

  1. Click on any open space on the desktop to activate Finder
     
  2. On the Top menu click Go.
  3. Click Utilities.
  4. Click Keychain Access.


  5. The Keychain Access screen will open.  Make certain the following items are selected
    1. Login
    2. Passwords


  6. Now search through the list looking for the following:
    1. Types
      1. Network Password which has Knox in the name
      2. 802.1x Password with has Knox in the name
    2. Any other entries with Knox in the name
    3. Any other entries for a Knox Printer
  7. On all items found in step 6:
    1. Click on the item
    2. Now: Go to the Keychain Access menu at the top of the screen
      1. Click Edit
      2. Click Delete


    3. Confirm the deletion.


    4. Once all items have been removed, close Keychain Access.

Adding new entries to the Keychain

When using a application or service has the option to save a password to the keychain, just click the Remember this password in my keychain box on the login screen.
