Register my device


Devices with a web browser

  1. Go to the Home screen

  2. Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

  3. Go to knoxaccess.knox.edu

  4. The Knox College Network Policies page will appear.

    1. Review the Acceptable Use Policy

      1. Before registering a mobile device, go to your network settings. Change the MAC address from “Randomized MAC” or “Private Wi-Fi Address” and select Phone MAC.

    2. Select Agree.

  5. You will see a page that says “Welcome” next.

    1. For a device with a web browser, select option 1.

  6. When the registration page appears, follow the on screen instructions.

    1. For your username, type your full email address.

    2. Your password is the same as your email password.

  7. You will see a page now listing the devices you have registered for network access.

    1. Click on the “This host is not registered. Register this host.” button toward the top center.

  8. You will receive a message saying This Host is Registered. You will also see your new device now in your list. Wait 30 seconds, during this time the wireless on your device will disconnect and reconnect. On your device, you can also toggle wireless off then on as well if after 30 seconds you still do not have internet.

  9. You can now log out and close the registration browser window.

  10. Your device is now registered on the Knox-Wireless or Knoxtronics network depending on which one you were attempting to connect to.

If this does not work, please contact the Knox ITS Helpdesk for further assistance. We may need to review your currently registered devices.


Devices without a web browser

  1. Connect the device to KnoxTronics.

    1. You will be connected without internet at this point.

  2. On a computer or mobile device, open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

  3. Go to knoxaccess.knox.edu/registration and click “Agree” to the terms and conditions after reading.

  1. Click on #2, “Devices that do not have a web browser”.

  2. You will need to locate the MAC address of the device. Instructions vary by device type, utilize a web search (use the exact brand and model number followed by “locate mac address”) for assistance in locating the MAC address for your specific device. You may need to read through the user manual if a quick search does not work.

    1. Once you have located the MAC address, enter the information below:

      1. Knox Username with the @knox.edu

      2. Your password for your Knox email account.

      3. The MAC address.

  3. Click Register.

  4. You will see a page that says “Success”.

    1. Wait until the timer is completed.

  5. You will be prompted to close and reopen your browser. Do this now.

  6. Your device is now registered on the KnoxTronics network.

If this does not work, please contact the Knox ITS Helpdesk for further assistance. We may need to review your currently registered devices.
