Deep Freeze Reboot Loop Fix
The Problem
Machines running Deep Freeze are in a reboot loop after being unfrozen to install Windows updates. This appears to happen most often in the Library.
Step-by-step guide
- Restart the computer in question.
- As it restarts, tap the F8 key.
- The following menu will display:
- Highlight "Repair Your Computer and hit enter. The following screen will appear:
- Click on Command Prompt. The Windows Command Prompt window will open.
- Enter the following command: del C:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml
- Hit enter and the command will run.
- Exit the Command Prompt window.
- Restart the computer.
