SMC Science Library Study Room HDMI Connections

Main PC (HDMI 1)

  1. To use the Main PC behind the TV, be sure that power is turned on by pressing this button.

    1. When the PC is on, the light illuminates WHITE, if you find the PC turned off, press the power button once.

  1. Turn the TV on by pressing the red power button on the Roku remote.

  1. When the TV is powered on, you will see the Home Screen.

  1. To select the Main PC, click the Right Arrow button on the Roku remote.

  2. Once you have clicked the Right arrow button, you will have Main PC highlighted on the screen.

    1. Click “Ok” on the remote.

  3. If the Main PC is turned on properly, you will see the screen below.

  1. Proceed to the Library Front Desk to check out a mouse and keyboard.

    1. Be sure to turn on the wireless mouse and keyboard.

    2. If you do not see this screen, try tapping keys on the keyboard and shaking the mouse to wake up the computer. If that does not work, proceed to the next step.

    3. If the computer is not being recognized by the TV, try turning off the Main PC by pressing the power button. Wait for it to shut down (you should see this happening on the screen), wait 5 seconds after it shut down, and press the power button again.

    4. If they wireless mouse and keyboard still do not work, ask the Library Front Desk for new batteries.

  2. When finished:

    1. Log off of the main PC.

    2. Check in the mouse and keyboard with the USB to the Library Front Desk.

Guest HDMI (HDMI 2)

  1. To plug in your personal laptop to the Guest HDMI, you will need the Guest HDMI cord that is hanging up on the TV.

  1. Gently remove the HDMI cable from the white hook and plug it into your laptop.

  1. To use the Guest HDMI, you will need to turn the TV on. Press the red power button on the Roku remote.

  2. When the TV is powered on, you will see this screen.

  1. Click the Right arrow button twice and you will have Guest HDMI highlighted on the screen.

  1. Click the purple 'OK' button on the Roku remote.

  2. If you have successfully connected your laptop to the Guest HDMI, you will see your screen on the TV.

    1. If you did not connect the Guest HDMI cord, you will see this screen. Connect the Guest HDMI cord to your laptop.

  1. When you are finished with the Guest HDMI cord, please return it to the white hook ensuring that it is hanging up and is not a tripping hazard.
