JAVA Security Settings for Jenzibar CX

College-owned computers are delivered with Java installed.  However, you may need to adjust the security settings for your individual login.

Windows:  Adjusting the Security Settings:

  1. In the "Type here to search box" type Control Panel
  2. At the top of the list that appears, click on Control Panel
  3. If not already set, adjust the Control Panel view to Small Icons.
  4. Locate and click on the Java applet
  5. Click on the Security tab
  6. Click on Edit Site List 
  7. Click Add
  8. Enter in the following site:  http://cx.knox.edu:9040
  9. Click Enter.  The following screen will appear:


     
  10. Click Continue.
  11. Repeat steps 7 - 9, this time for :  http://cxtest.knox.edu:9430
  12. The end result should be as follows:




  13. Close the Java Control panel.
  14. CX should now open.  You MAY see a security message.  Just click through this message.


OSX - Adjusting the Security Settings:

  1. Update Java as needed
    1. Update the Java program as needed via Apple Software Updates
    2. Or you may go directly to http://java.com to download the latest version.
  2. Once installed adjust the security settings to allow CX to run by following these instructions: Adjusting OSX Gatekeeper Security Settings for Bradford and Sophos Installs
