"You need permission" Error in Google Drive

What to do when a user is confronted with the following error when accessing an item on Google Drive that is controlled by a Knox account:

Solution

This is caused by the user being logged into another gmail account that is not controlled by Knox. To fix this either:

  • Have the user log out of their personal Gmail account and then access the item.
    OR
  • Open an incognito window, log into My.Knox.edu with it, and then access the item..
